That was a fight I thought Akeem won but I only saw it once way back in the day.I knew Akeem from the gym when he was a teenager and still in high school. Doc Broadus was his legal guardian andtrainer when he was an amateur.He trained at Golden Gloves gym in North Las Vegas .Those injures ended his career and basically his life.He made a serious of bad life choices after boxing and sadly he was still so young when he passed.I know prior to his death he had gone back to Nigeria I believe it was to see his family.

Wow, nice story, I also did a lot of facts finds about this fight from years ago, Kid akeem never could come to terms with his injuries or the neurosurgeon recommendations, he and his wife sharon self discharge him. He had his licence taken away, even though he swear he was fine etc But he has swellings in the brain.

He was then scrapping for money to feed his young two wons (Doesn't one of them (Akeem jr) play football in america now? Last time i checked). Which lead to him dabbling in selling drugs in Vegas, getting caught and deported to Nigeria.

It was whilst in Nigeria that he had two or three fights, collapse after one of the fights in the shower and passed away from there. He definitely had a couple of fights from my research.

Even sad was Roberto's own demons and him getting shot later on.
