I want to agree with you 100% and a part of me obviously does but Khabib is NOT Conor.
The guy is durable and extremely conditioned. Have you seen his training sessions?

The guy grapples/wrestles for 10 straight minutes for 5 rounds, he is about 13 years younger than Floyd and will probably eat a lot of Floyd’s punches all the way to round 11 assuming he doesn’t go down gallantly.

What next if he make it to 12? A beat up, bloodied and completely overmatched Khabib will finish Floyd in those three minutes. Unless Floyd literally runs around.

      • It seems too risky a move for a smart businessman like Floyd. Theres too much of a chance that Khabib would just run around the ring focusing on nothing but survival so he could make it to the MMA round, and if that happened Floyd would get publicly emasculated in a way that his image and ego would never recover from.

One round of MMA is as draining as 3 rounds of boxing.

Tough or not I believe Floyd knocks him out
          Or it will be stopped
Can’t see Khabib lasting round after round
And there would be no doubt he would submit Floyd in record time

You are just making my case for me with all your valid points. Except for one thing

Marquez was already in the welterweight division when he fought Pac the 3rd and 4th time.

If Marquez was already in the WW division when he fought PAC the 3rd time then there should be no issues with fighting Floyd at WW (they fought in 2010), right?

Lastly, Marquez destroyed PAC in 2012 at a catch weight of 144 so size shouldn’t be an issue when using your analogy.

I do agree that if fighters agree to a catchweight then it’s their business but the bottom line is Freddy Roach was on record saying he will demand catchweight a for Manny to give him advantage(s). I am not making this up.

Roach knows the effects of draining fighters and I think we all do so as good a win Manny had over weight drained guys, I wonder what would have happened if there were no catch weights. I think Many would have probably won but we’ll never know.

Lastly, if Manny was demanding catch weights at the time when he was “in his prime or invincible” in 2009 to 2012 do you honestly think he would fought Floyd at full fledge welterweight?
More important, he got destroyed by Marquez in 2012 so that just tells you how that fight would play out.

You are absolutely right about the scum that is Bob Arum and what he does to his fighters.

No, there’s no issue with Marquez and Mayweather fighting at welterweight because they mutually agreed to do it. Pac became a legit welterweight after he defeated Cotto for WBO welterweight belt in 2009, so he didn’t have any problem fighting Mayweather at full fledge welterweight, he was already a welterweight champion when Mayweather came back from his 1st retirement to fight Marquez, I wish it was Pac he fought instead of Marquez, it would be more exciting. There’s no shame in losing to a great fighter like Marquez, Pac was actually winning that fight before he ran into a perfectly timed punch who would knock anybody out, Marquez, himself said he knew Pac could knock him out anytime before he landed that punch that knocked Pac out cold. Sure, Marquez knocked him out cold but he didn’t destroy him because Pac wanted a rematch but Marquez refused no matter how much money they offered him. Pac is one of a very few boxers who have the ability to come back and become a world champion again not once but twice after getting brutally KO’d like that. Talking about getting destroyed, Hatton and Dela Hoya are good examples, Pac ended their boxing careers.

                ——————-

PAC beat Cotto at a catchweight of 145. Sure he became a legit title holder but he had to do it with a catchweight.
He became a “legit” title holder at 154 BUT he had to do it at catchweight and beat Margarito who was destroyed by Mosley. Margarito got that belt when it was up for grabs and do you know the guy he beat? Nobody does.

So your reason of Marquez not destroying PAC is because Marquez refused a rematch? Bro, you can slice that argument anyway you want, bottom line is Marquez dropped PAC with the same right hand in the third round before finishing him off in the 7th. Two lucky punches? I don’t think so. Also, not granted PAC a rematch has nothing to do with anything.
They also fought three other times and those fights could have gone either way. That’s how close they were.

Boxing is 12 rounds so it does not matter if PAC was winning the fight. That’s the same reasoning Khan fans say when they talk about Khan getting KO’d by Garcia, Canelo or even Crawford. That he was winning but he got caught.

PAC did not end Oscar’s career. They fought at 147. A weight class Oscar last fought at in 2002 which gave PAC all the advantage he needed. Freddy Roach is in record multiple times saying he wants to give PAC all the advantages he can.
Hatton has been KO’d by Floyd already and was struggling with other nondescript guys, PAC just sealed his fate.

PAC has achieved a lot of success and I can respect his career but you cannot justify or ignore him fighting tomato cans like Mathysse, Broner, Rios, etc
Or the catch weights or fighting guys that were coming off losses (Mosley, Clottey etc).

When did I tell you it was a lucky punch? I said it very clear, “perfectly timed” punch. I also said it very clear, there’s nothing to be ashamed of in losing to a great fighter like Marquez, he was the better man that night. What part of that didn’t you understand?
And yes Pac ended Dela Hoya’s and Hatton’s boxing career, Dela Hoya himself told the comedian George Lopez Pac beat him so bad, that’s why he quit boxing and Hatton said he thought about committing suicide after Pac knocked him out cold, I would believe them first before I believe anybody because they honestly said it themselves. Didn’t you agree when I said if both parties agreed to fight at a catch weight, there’s nothing to complain about? Why would you bring it up again? And didn’t you agree when I said Pac and now Crawford were fighting bums because of Arum, why would you bring it up again? Mayweather fought tomato cans too like a shot Guerrero and Berto but I didn’t criticize him for that because him and Pac already paid their dues and they can fight whoever they want to fight no matter what haters say. You got it?
