Comments Thread For: Efe Ajagba Drops, Breaks Down, Stops Razvan Cojanu in Ninth

NEW YORK Efe Ajagba produced a methodical knockout Saturday night, 2 months after what the Nigerian heavyweight considers a "terrible" performance in his previous fight. The 6-feet-6, 242-pound prospect knocked down huge underdog Razvan Cojanu twice before their scheduled 10-rounder was stopped at 2:46 of the ninth round on the Adam Kownacki-Robert Helenius undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Referee Ron Lipton ended their bout as soon as the 6-feet-7, 255-pound Cojanu took a knee after absorbing another thudding right hand from Ajagba (13-0, 11 KOs).

Looked good...not much power but consistently landed enough to exhaust a plodding Cojanu. Took a few shots as well and showed good chin.

He looked good. Improved his head movement quite a bit and worked the body. Fought more of a stick and move amateur style, not really planting his feet much (even then you could tell he’s heavy handed) and took Cojanu into deep waters before beating the piss out of him in the final rounds (probably should have been stopped a bit earlier)

            So he’s improving.

saying a prospect is bad because he’s not top ten?

                  No kidding.

Ajagba is still a work in progress but you can see that he is getting better in some areas.

Let's give the guy some time.

You have to practice that style early....... sounds to me like he used this fight to practice instead of just seeking a KO, going by the limited amount of things I heard.

Pretty routine win I gather. I think he'l need 20 fights before we start talking about this guy pushing for titles and fighting the top 10.
