    Joe Mesi > Deontay Wilder

Mesi went 36-0. His win over Vassily Jirov is more impressive than any win on Wilder’s resume. Mesi also beat Monte Barrett, David Izon, Keith McKnight, Davarryl Williamson, Talmadge Griffis, Robert Davis, Derrick Banks, Bert Cooper and Jorge Luis Gonzales.

I’m not claiming that’s a great resume, it’s just clearly better than Wilder’s resume.

I endorse this message. Also shoutout to Toney v Jirov, one of the all time action classics.

Ok his win off of Jirov was very unimpressive since it was a 10 rder and Jirov was headed towards a tko win but just ran out of time.

nearly every serious contender has a better resume than wilder, the thread is redundant.

Joe won every round until the 9th, when Jirov landed a fight changing rabbit punch on Mesi. He got up and survived two more knockdowns against a buzz saw. To me, that is impressive. Especially impressive when you consider the rabbit punch that started all the drama is the punch that ended Mesi’s career. He was a warrior.

You think Jirov wouldn't have finished him in a 12 rd fight given how the fight was going?

Why are you overlooking the rabbit punch? Jirov would have knocked out anyone following that shot. It wasn’t some incidental, stuff happens, glancing blow. It was a powerful right hook.
