I disagree. Take a look at the sports and number of countries that DAZN broadcasts. Not signing Canelo isn't going to cause DAZN to fail.

Hey it's not my idea. It was a brainchild of DAZN. the same guys that signed Canelo.

Spence versus Porter got each fighter 2M plus a share of PPV.
so lets say the PPV got them an additional 2M each. that's a total of 8M dollars DAZN would pay out. Even if PPV was 4M each that's a total of 12M dollars.
They could afford to put that bout and another of equal quality on the same card and still have about 12M left for another card at a later date. I'm confident that bout would have more drawing power than the Fielding Canelo bout or a Saunders Canelo fight. IMO they shot themselves in the foot signing Canelo. Now they are stuck with fighters demanding huge sums to get in the ring with him.

Dazn over pays for both guys. Screw up the contract language and despite having exclusives on both, they still can not make the fight.

If you meant about resume, then yes I agree, nevertheless mismatch is a mismatch when you compare the talent gap of Murata vs against all the opponent I mention, including Canelo. A great one who is love by his people of Japan like a celebrity for his accomplishment as a amateur and Gold Medalist with a WBA secondary title in the 160lbs, good to the resume to whatever fighter beat him again, gaining in the process the same lesser WBA belt (Canelo have the true WBA belt) and nothing more.
