  • Comments Thread For: Manuel Charr vs. Trevor Bryan: Don King Wins Purse Bid

Manuel Charr and Trevor Bryan finally have a confirmed buyer for their long-ago ordered heavyweight title fight. Whether their matchup actually sees the light of day is another matter. Don King has gained promotional control over the World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight title consolidation clash through a purse bid hearing held Monday morning in Panama City. The Hall of Fame promoter posted a bid of $2,000,000, far outpacing Global Sports Management-the session's lone other participant-who submitted a $1,200,000 offer in hopes of claiming rights to the fight.

The only thing I remember Charr for is losing to Vitali.

And anyone would care about this fight...WHY? Neither guy is a threat to anyone in the top 15-20.

Last time I heard Bryan's name he was being floated around as a replacement for Big Baby to fight AJ. I remember Charr for his loss to Breidis and the oft-rumored faceoff against Oquendo.
