I'm happy to pay money to watch Fury beat Wilder into retirement.

It is kind of relevant to be honest.

Rubber matches rarely do better numbers than the rematches.

And I don't think I've even seen a rubber match where the rematch was that one sided. No way at all it does better numbers than the 2nd fight.

        From Tapology
        UFC 57 Liddell vs. Couture 3 400K
        UFC 52 Couture vs. Liddell 2 280K

        From Wikipedia
        Pacquiao-Marquez 3 1.4m
        Pacquiao-Marquez 2 400K

        Jones-Tarver 3 405K
        Jones-Tarver 2 360K

        Patterson-Johansson 3 100k
        Patterson-Johansson 2 25k

There's some examples for you of 3rd fights outdrawing the 2nd fight.

Likely there's more but I couldn't find numbers for Ali-Norton 2 or Ali-Frazier 2 and there haven't been a significant amount of trilogies.

And just in the interest of fairness, these rematches outdrew the trilogies:
        Pac-Morales, Bowe-Holyfield, Valasquez-Dos Santos (UFC).

It's going to be a hard sell. Anyone in the top 50 would have been more competitive. Should the commissions even sanction it?
... they will sell just like that!!!... with even more UK fans filling the MGM...
