Commentators have their script written before the fight even started. Vargas won the first 4 rounds and won at least 3 of the last 5.

I know mikey garcia got the win but Garcia desperately needs to change his style. Vargas wiped him for the first 4 rounds and Garcia took a lot of body punches. Garcia scored the knockdown but he let the bigger fighter stay in the fight. Garcia waits to snipe with that right hand but that's not good enough to consistently beat welterweights. Mikey thinks he can cruise to a decision like in the smaller divisions but his style isn't as dominant at 147 as it is for 140 and below.

At least one judge had it right with 114-113.

Garcia needs to bow out of 147..... he’s too small and inactive for this weight class, he’s an elite fighter at 140 and below.

With Errol Spence Jr. sitting ringside this time, Garcia returned from his only professional loss by defeating former WBO 147-pound champion Jessie Vargas by unanimous decision in their 12-round main...
