Too many idiots on this forum. 8-3 Mickey, people seem to love activity over effective punching. That pillow fluff jabbing that Vargas was doing to the body and chest dont score **** with me. This isn't Olympic boxing.

Well there are actually 12 rounds in a boxing match, not 11, so i'm assuming 3 was meant to be 4?

I haven't watched the fight back yet but sounds like a decent scrap! Will watch it on my lunch break. I was hopingm for a garcia close decision..i have a feeling he's snuck a wide by 1 point

I felt is was prolly a draw like i called . Vargas just never does quite enuff plus mikey was a big favorite with the bigger fan base . I think the knockdown was likely the differnce in the fight . That being said I wouldnt have complained if Vargas won , and the scorecards were not accurate

It can’t be a draw. There was one knockdown, and you cannot split the points of the remaining rounds evenly. Wt best you can have a 114-113

Vargas won the first 4, Mikey then won 5-8 very wide, the 9th could go to either fighter although I think Vargas took it, and then 10-12 Mikey stopped throwing as much and Vargas was much more active landing some solid shots in those rounds.

Round 9 was a sht round for both but Vargas did absolutely nothing but miss.

Round 10 shocks me because Vargas was rocked that round??? But it’s your score card! Give Vargas 100 rounds for all I care. Hell give Vargas some 10-8/ 11-7 rounds if it makes you feel better....

Round 5 and 10 clearly Mikey. 10 Vargas was hurt and Bambi-legged. Round 5 almost TKO’d

it's not just based on punches landed. Mikey controlled the centre of the ring, the tempo, had the more effective shots, hurt and put Vargas down. It's a fair result. That 116-111 scorecard judge needs looking at though.

All people care about is punches these days.

I can't stand Mikey so I skipped it, but since it's apparently controversial for some reason, I'll do a scorecard like I usually do, with real criteria.

i had it 7-5 for Mikey so 115-112. Jessie had very long periods of times throughout the fight especially after the knockdown where he was too inactive for my liking. A lot of rounds were swing rounds that he could've won but he let them go away. I felt like he wasn't willing to go through the fire to win and i think that's why he lost.

I had it 115-112 for Mikey as well and I could see 114-113 (knockdown for Garcia being the difference). I think people are calling the fight a robbery because Vargas was the underdog and he performed better than expected.

I think Vargas won the first 4 rounds (it was 3-1 at worst in his favor) and then Mikey slowly started breaking him down as the rounds went on. Vargas hung in there and regained his bearings to make the fight competitive down the stretch but I preferred Garcia's accuracy and sharp punching over Vargas' greater volume.

If you prefer volume exclusively then I can certainly understand those who had Vargas winning but I felt like Mikey dictated the pace of the fight and did more damage.
