It is a bit of a chicken and the egg scenario...and I didn't feel like this comment from Wilder was 100% directed towards just black Americans...but yeah this comment and others could certainly be taken that way.

Just wanted to highlight this comment and those like it, from all fighters, as to why a lot of people 'root' for guys of their same race...Wilder is basically telling us that his people are the black American, so as a white American it kind of leaves you not feeling part of the team.

Which is fine...race is a big unifier for people, moreso than it is a divider imho...so no real issue with any of Wilder's comments...and I hope he bounces back..I think he has gotten too much sh.it after this loss, and would love to see him matched up with some of the other UK HWs...those fights would be exciting and would sell well I think.

For a guy coming off a 'bad' loss - he has 3 really good options outside of the rematch in Ruiz, AJ and Whyte which should all do good numbers.

The comments from him do seem to reflect that he is hurting right now as well...he needs to try to use this loss to fuel him and learn from it, rather than letting it destroy him...will be interesting to see which way it goes for him...it may just be that Fury ends up haunting him/being a bad matchup for him anyway, and he still could match up really well with any other top HWs.
