  • Comments Thread For: Parker's Manager To Wilder: Take Step-Aside, Allow Fury-Joshua

David Higgins, the manager for former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, says Deontay Wilder should take some high step-aside money to allow the unification between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Fury made a statement last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he stopped Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch to capture the WBC heavyweight crown.

Wilder prevented the biggest fight at HW for years and now he's preventing the next. He's done nothing but hold the division back. GTFO of the sport already you bum.

Would Joshua man up and fight Fury without a rematch clause? Highly doubtful! Wilder should take step aside money only if he is guaranteed the winner of Fury/Joshua.

Might not need to pay Wilder anything. The networks/promoters took a loss on this fight, depending on the purses in the contract they might pull the plug on the rematch.

True! I don't see the third fight happening.

There is no need for Wilder to step-aside, Joshua is fighting Pulev in the Summer so can't fight?

Fury stays in-shape now and only needs an 8-week camp for Wilder. As long as they do it by July there is nothing stopping a November fight with Joshua (Fury wants 3 fights this year any way.

Joshua should be talking about paying off Usyk, not Wilder.

Has nothing to do with the networks. If Wilder officially exercises the rematch clause then he is guaranteed a third Fury fight by July 18th. Arum is trying to push it until the fall.

Step aside money and then guaranteed fight with the winner? Pls spare us that BS. He takes either the step aside or the the third fight. How about Fury/Joshua doing a double or even a trilogy based on competitiveness, and competitiveness is highly likely.

If the networks don't want to risk taking another loss and don't want the fight, how are the promoters going to get the money to pay the guarantees if they're anywhere close to the ones rumoured for this fight? Like i said it's depending on what purses are written in the contract.

Joshua fights his mandatory in June, Wilder vs Fury can be in July, the winners fight in Vegas in December.
Give Usyk a bit of cash to step aside to allow the Unification fight to happen, which is better for Usyk anyway cause fighting the Unified champ will get him a lot more Moolah.
                    Problem solved.
