I think it's a fascinating matchup. Pop consensus is that Fury can box but can't **** and AJ can **** but can't box. Fury can definitely crack and AJ can definitely box. So it probably boils down to who can make the adjustments on the night. Slightly favour Fury die to his reach being 3 mile.

Kronk Fury is a handful for any heavyweight in the world.

John Fury knows AJ is a real threat to Tyson. He's twice as dangerous as Wilder because he carries similar power and speed but also is a much better boxer.

He knows AJ bashed him up in sparring when AJ was only an amateur. He always picks AJs opponents to win. He lost money picking Charles Martin ffs.

It's a helluva fight and one that John Fury doesn't want to see his son take.

The other day John Fury was saying Tyson Fury should retire.
He knows AJ.batters Fury and he knows AJ already did so in sparring.

I honestly believe the chances of thisnfight happening are less than 50/50.

              Think about it.

Fury has Wilder next and AJ has Pulev. Assuming they both win those there are possible complications around mandatories.
Now that Wilder has been utterly exposed mandatories will mean something again- and that means Dillian Whyte vs Fury.
Fury could also bottle a fight with AJ and do an Andre Ward and just pretend there's nothing left to fight for and retire instead. Or fight Whyte and lose.

If they both win, hopefully Whyte will let them fight and get the winner for all.the belts.

Having seen AJ humiliated by Andy Ruiz, it's difficult for me to envision AJ as any sort of threat to Tyson Fury. As for John Fury, I imagine that he roars with laughter every time he thinks about AJ as an opponent for Tyson and will continue to do so until AJ proves that he has anything more than a twinkle toes approach left in his repertoire. Based on his style in the Ruiz rematch, diaper, a baby bonnet, and a rattle would be suitable attire for AJ's future ring entrances. Perhaps instead of boxing, AJ will play at Ring Around the Rosie. He'd have a better chance of winning; you know, "all fall down!"
