Comments Thread For: Wilder: I Wanna Go Out On My Shield; Death Is Better Than Defeat

Deontay Wilder knows people don't understand why he has stated numerous times that he "wants a body on his record." The hard-hitting former WBC heavyweight champion doesn't expect people to understand, either, his insistence on going out on his shield, even if it means dying in the ring. But that's the way Wilder feels.

The bronze dummy with 8 kids smh.

How can one be so selfish and dumb due to non-existent ego?

This idiot is a poser and someone needs to retire him from the sport. A disgrace to boxing and real fighting men.

He's an emotional b1tch that barks but can't bite...not a man of honour.

        This is incredibly ******.

It has always been obvious he isn't very bright. You just have to listen to him. But this is way dumber and as pointed out in another post it is just so self pityingly selfish. What about his family? his kids? his friends? the sport?

That would have happened if you had faced Joshua, you would have died. Wont a team member tell this Buminator to stop talking? 😟😟

whwn he says stuff like this ...yea...dunno about death, but i can believe hed never accept a voluntary stoppage. thst ass beating he took from ortiz in round 7 of their first fight was off the chain and he didnt go down.

i understand the ref stoññin tje fight, i understand breñand theowin in te towel, and when wilder tells us his corner has a standing order ti never throw in the towel i believe that too.

the suit too heavy and all that...well, this was a big defeat. huge. much tougher than his first loss to fury, and he (like everyone else who understNds boxing) knows he lost that fight. this was a bad beatdown. sayin dumb stuff after a defest like that is understandable. lotsa guys say that stuff. ****, hopkins said dumb stuff when smith outboxed and best the stuffing outta him. so yea...sayin stuff like this? no big deal.

hope he comes back and, win of lose, shows somethin better the third fight.

Continuing to paint this picture of himself as a Roman gladiator is just pathetic.

"I Wanna Go Out On My Shield"...

I'l never understand how this ancient saying has changed...

"going out on the shield" means going out dead... while "going out under the shield" means going out alive (and maybe victorious)...
