Comments Thread For: Hearn Still Not Sure If Canelo Will Fight Saunders Or Callum Smith

FRISCO, Texas Eddie Hearn remains uncertain which of the fighters he promotes will face Canelo Alvarez next. There have been days recently when Hearn was sure Billy Joe Saunders would get that career-high payday. As recently as Tuesday, though, Hearn was convinced Callum Smith would square off against Alvarez next.

This post also gave us some insite on who's money is used to pay the challenger or B-side. Well it at least gave the impression that Canelo would still make his 35 and that Golden boy would have to pay the opponent?? But that still doesn't make sense. I wish they would break down how they all get paid.

I wish it’d be charlo! would love for canelo to end the hype train. These last couple of days the LDBC media has been on suicide watch this would be the icing on the cake.

I thought maybe there would be no fight made, like last year. GBP always low balls everyone, claims they have multiple unnamed options and will move on. If a fight is made it’s no surprise it’s between the first two guys mentioned, will just cost them more. Yeah there’s lots of boxers but only so many managers and promoters. So everyone links arms and sings protest songs until the money gets driven up. It’s how it’s always worked. GBP can tell us why an opponent isn’t worth the money then tell us why we need to pay to see it at full price. It’s like political candidates trashing each other and their policies, then when one of them gets the nomination, they tell everyone how we need to vote for them. Still at this point Nelo doesn’t need much time to promote anything, this drama is all part of it.

Reports are both Smith and Saunders are dropping their prices it's a game of chicken for both as their bluffs have been called. Now Golden boy is playing their offers against each other and whoever drops the price the lowest is getting the fight. But whoever loses the fight will look an idiot for not taking the offer that was the table weeks ago fast enough and pricing themself out. When you offered the biggest money you have ever seen on the table you take it you don't haggle for a few more pennies when you are the B side and the A side gets paid regardless and has multiple options you playing with fire. Either Smith or Saunders could get beat their next fight and never see that payday again. lol

Yup and that's the ultimate phuk you. starting to hear rumors of a dark horse opponent, maybe a guy like Gilberto Ramirez who is on the outside with top rank that Canelo is familiar with and sparred with. If canelo fights someone else it will but disaster for Hearn and both Saunders and Smith who each could of had the fight but lost it asking for more money. lol

I prefer Smith. BJS is too slick for his own good, and I don't mean good slick. I can see Canelo trying to run him down, he might not catch him. Smith isn't so slippery.
