That ESPN/Fox PPV was so bad

The whole thing with showing Wilder and Fury walking into the building and reporting on them tying their shoes or something was ridiculous. There were undercard fights going on, and they were doing a split screen with that and Wilder just walking down a hallway for a minute or two straight.

The HBO PPVs were miles above these ones. The commentary was better too.

I found it off putting that during the undercard fights they talked non stop about the Fury/Wilder fight as well. I get it that's the meal ticket but those guys were there to make a name for themselves too. Give em that little bit of respect.

Yes it wasn’t great but isn’t it rumored to be trending around 2m buys? Amazing the first fight did around 350k or something right? That Top Rank and ESPN promo really helped.

Another way of looking at it is they kept eyes on the TV during the fight. I don’t know of too many people who would be sitting there taking notes on Charles Martin’s performance. So they lured casual eyes to the TV for a decent KO. Maybe Martin should be thankful.

That’s me playing devils advocate though as I found it disrespectful.

Outside the US here so don't know the personalities. Was it separate commentary teams?

I've watched one version with Lennox Lewis. Presumably Fox?

The other version with Christine and Ray, whoever they are, was atrocious. "That's a great shot, Christine". "Thanks Ray, that's great insight Ray".

          Fkoff Ray. And Christine.

Nobody I know paid for the fight. I think 600-700k buys will be the final tally and that's good.

PBC has no clue how to do PPVs. Using women announcers who've never boxed, trained, or been beaten by their man. And it shows.

Top Rank is fine, but working with PBC and ESPN brings out the amateur in them too
