There are a lot of so-called boxing coaches who strike it lucky and produce a champion. Most of them are coaches from some local boys and girls club or small gym who do it in their spare time to help out kids or work the amateur circuit. They don't have the depth of experience to carry their fighter to the next level and help them make adjustments for opponents. Today, everyone thinks they are a boxing coach. I see some awful coaches in the corners in between rounds, they either give bad advice or no advice at all. Just pep talk their fighter and wipe the sweat from their face.
Deas didn't even do that. Wilder turned pro in 2008 and Mark Breland joined his team in 2009. Deas has been bull****ting playing cheerleader this whole time keeping Wilder happy and collecting a check.
