And Smith just lost his last fight, couldn't even really be competitive with Ryder, I mean come on...not super interested in this one...selective matchmaking, that's what it always is for the big A-sides.

****.ty fight...and yes I would have loved this fight before Smith's last vs Ryder...but he was exposed there and there is a 'cherry-pick' imho
Ur a ***in idiot if you think this is a cherrypick. Loss or not to Ryder. Smith is the most proven guy at SMW and the best scalp that can be taken there.

Would much prefer to see him fight Saunders.

Still not really sold on Smith and his last fight did nothing to help that.

At least Saunders is a stylistic test for Canelo. As inconsistent as Saunders can look (like Fury), he would’ve been 100% v Canelo and give Canelo a style he hasn’t faced since he struggled with Lara.

Smith has no attributes to trouble Canelo in my opinion. You’re going to need a bit more than just height and reach for that job. Smith is way too textbook and upright. Easy fight for Canelo.

Can’t knock it too much, Smith is still one of the champs and top guys in a pretty weak division. It’s just a fight i’d feel no excitement for.

Credit to Canelo. Smith is the tough matchup but one I expect Canelo to win

I felt Smith lost to Ryder but that doesn't mean that Callum automatically loses to Canelo. Saul and Ryder fight nothing alike. I'd still favor Canelo to beat Smith but it's a legit fight, assuming there's no weight clauses because Smith is probably going to move up sooner than later. I think Smith will have an easier time using his length against Canelo than he did against Ryder.

              I agree about Saunders

But Smith is the no.1 super middleweight. It’s a very good opponent.

Either Smith or Saunders extends Canelo’s very good opponent streak (except Fielding)

Lol not at all...Canelo is a great fighter...but yeah I don't get super excited about his fights.

I saw him lose both to GGG and I think they were clear enough...some reasonable people disagree on the 2nd fight though but yeah I felt it was a clear W for G.

So no matter what...no one is going to beat him on the cards...and he often adds in weight clauses as well...and now he is fighting a guy who just got beat really in his last fight.

Just not super interested in it...but I'm not a Canelo superfan...and you two guys certainly are that...and that's cool...but I'll take my boxing analysis from literally anyone else besides you two fellas.

He is getting Smith right after Smith looked terrible/very vulnerable against a discount version of Canelo.

Call it a cherry-pick or you can use different terminology if you want...but it is, as you said, a case of Canelo trying to get a scalp and acclaim, with the victory on paper looking better than it really is in actuality.

Let's see what happens and if there are any weight clauses as well...if he fights him straight up, I won't hate on it really...just not super interested in the fight after Smith's last fight...and yes it seems to be a bit of a cherry pick...if you can't see that then idk what to tell ya man.

Ahhh I knew it. After the Gypsy King shocked the world Saturday night I had a feeling Canelo wouldn't want to give BJS an opportunity

Problem is Saunders could outbox him all day, not likely imo but possible...and he would never get the decision...so takes any real excitement out of that fight as well.
