What the fook is this? Imitating Tyson Fury, really? Reminds me more of the drunken old men fighting outside the local pub on the weekend. So cringeworthy, and no wonder Deontay has shown very little improvement over the years, if this is the level of his training.

I’ve been saying it for a while. Wilder’s biggest problem is his loyalty. Deas was a trainer for a ****ing local gym when Wilder walked through his front door. He hit the lottery and now he’s just a yes man afraid of losing his meal ticket.

Watch that vid I posted Rexy... that chit is almost criminally negligent on Deas' part. Wrong on so many levels. It seems these folks have been getting by purely on Wilder's big punch alone for years now.

I didn’t know Jim Breuer trained Deontay Wilder.

That's exactly what it was. I'll check the video when I have a moment (subbed for later) but yeah, you could tell based on Deas' advice to Wilder in his corner while he didn't even tend to his ****ing cuts lol. How you gonna tell Wilder "come forward and throw the right hand??"

Wilder basically made a name for himself when he KO'd Kelvin Price on Shobox 9 years back. Imagine if around that time he got himself a competent trainer who taught him footwork and defense. Wilder has gotten this far based on a right hand, a jab and basically training himself. It's ****ing criminal

Think you're right about Deas winning the lottery with Wilder. Appears to offer very little as a coach, I've spent a couple of hours trying to find out more about his coaching methodology, and it ain't pretty. From what I understand he was a crime reporter who one day, in his 20s, decided that his true calling was becoming a Boxing trainer/promoter/manager. Only other fighters I can find who he at least managed are Earl Monroe (10-2-3), and Tim Mitchell (10-3), a pair of Alabama club fighters.

And this is why Wilder has no variety in his offense lol it looks like all they work on is jabs, double jabs, and straights. No hooks, uppercuts, body punching, slipping, etc. .

Wilder's limitations are realistically caused by the enablement of this Jay fella

A scrawny, 5-foot-something, middle-aged fella, who moves like he's marching through treacle, to imitate Tyson Fury, really? Bring in someone bigger and more athletic to do the pad work and move around with Wilder, for fook sake. Look at the work Freddie Roach and Michael Moorer were doing in the 2000s. You can't have a little man imitating a big man, just isn't effective. Deas has been exposed as a bit of a dark lord in the aftermath of Fury handing Wilder a punishing. I think Deas is more likely to use this opportunity to tighten his grip and better his own position, rather than do what's right for Deontay and bring in a competent trainer. Also makes you wonder how much say Mark Breland has ever actually had in the camp? Or was he employed as a decoy/yes man?
