Leave it as is both divisions are already diluted too much.
Heavyweight and - may be - cruiserweight should be splitted up?

They don't tend to get more skillful as they get bigger. It's the opposite.
Fury is a bit of an exception. You don't change the rules just because someone is freakish.
Next they'll be bringing divisions into track and field. Not fair if someone's that much better than the rest.Comment

Haye beat Valuev despite a 9 inch height disadvantage, and a 100 lb weight disadvantage.
It was billed as "David vs Goliath" and Haye went on to lose to Wladimir Klitschko who was much smaller and much lighter than Valuev.
If Wilder doesn't want to fight real Heavyweights, he can cut weight and run down to Cruiserweight.Comment

I do not agree. Yes, at the moment it will seem that we are creating a dead land in this new division. But overtime with years passing by it will gain a traction. Less drastic difference in weight results in more fair matchups. As of now, even the step from LHW to CW is too steep. We go from 7 lbs margin straight to 25 lbs. Ideally I would like CW to go back to its original limit of 190. And then put junior heavy or whatever at 220. To be honest we could fit even two additional divisions in there, if we lower the limit of CW to say 185. Then the next division with 200 limit, and the next say at 225. Right now, looking at the CW/HW scene it makes no sense. But it will be an investment to the future.Absolutely not. Leave things alone because they are fine as they are. How can you say Wilder has no chance when with a referee that did not count so slow or give so many walking tests Wilder would have KOed Fury in the first fight. Cunningham at 210 pounds knock Fury down for a 6 count. Big Baby Miller weighs 300 pounds. Is he a champion? There are 400 pound heavyweights fighting now and they lose all the time. Heavyweight is heavyweight and you fight everyone regardless of weight. If you devide heavyweight up into two weights of say under 250 and over 250 then the under 250 champion will demand to fight the over 250 champion. Every good heavyweight wants to be champion over everybody not just the smaller heavyweights. The best cruiserweights usually go to heavyweight. Look at history. Fury is the biggest heavyweight champ ever and most heavyweight champs are between 180 and 240. No upper limit on heavyweights PLEASE.Comment

I think 190 was a better weight for cruiserweight than 200 especially with day before the fight weigh in where some cruiserweights weigh 220 in the ring. But I don't make the rules or set the weight limits, 175 to 200 is too big a jump because in that weight range the best are all very skillful and weight gives the bigger boxer an edge. But heavyweights is different and you reach a point where many of these huge heavyweights are actually inferior to a more normal size heavyweight. They weigh more but they are slower and clumsy. They often don't punch as hard as good smaller heavyweights or take as good a punch and they have worse stamina so their giant size is no advantage at all. If you have a regular heavyweight champ who must weigh under 250 and a super heavyweight class for heavyweights 250 on up the regular heavyweight champ will always demand to fight the super heavyweight champ to be considered the best heavyweight in the world. The public would demand the fight. Should a great 230 pound heavyweight be forced to gain 20 pounds he doesn't need just to fight the super heavyweight champ? Giant heavyweights have always been in boxing but very few of them have been very good so why create a weight class just for giants who usually lose to good smaller heavyweights? Fury weighed 273 and he is a great fighter but he could still lose to a very good much smaller fighter.I do not agree. Maybe make the Cruiserweight limit 15 stone, or 210 lb. But if they were going to do that, they should get rid of a bunch of the "Super" and "Light" divisions. People like Canelo and Eubank Jr. moving freely between Light Middle and Light Heavy goes to show how laughable the situation is.Comment
