I would say a ref stoppage there would have been a bad stoppage.

I think the referee would need to let wilder fight until he was knocked out or in a serious trouble.

So I understand why Wilder is upset that his corner didn’t let him get to that point.

I was waiting for the ref to stop it. He let it go on too long in my opinion. That’s how boxing deaths occur, and Wilder was done by the 3rd/4th round.

Wilder is mad that he didn't get to go out on his shield not knowing that he DID go out on his shield. Breland did the right thing. You could tell that Breland wanted to end it earlier. At one point it looked like he was trying to keep Wilder in his stool at the beginning of the round.

"I'm sorry Mam, your husband was a moron who did not want me to stop a fight. Because of that, your husband is not a vegetable... but don't blame me, it was not my fault, your husband wanted to go out on his own sword."

Yeah... I can see that playing out real well.

If at the end of the day you fire someone and don't see how they possibly saved your life and saved your career by pulling you out... you are a moron. Because of the towel, Wilder will be able to fight another day.

Not really... it was a one sided beating.

Most fighters would be annoyed cause they believe they can still turn the tide but sometimes you need to save a fighter from himself.

Breland has been in there himself, he knew enough was enough. Don’t forget we also didn’t know at this point what the cause of bleeding from the ear was. That’s always very worrying, seeing blood coming from that area.

I think Fury’s incredible recovery in the first fight definitely affected the referee’s decision to let it go on.

Yeah Wilder's wife & kids might be the only people secretly thanking Breland.

Yes...it would be an early stoppage based on what I could see. If the ref being close saw his eyes roll back or some other type of adverse reaction that triggered him, then maybe.
