How many of them have the skill and the balls to carry out that blueprint though?

Fury didn’t just attack without thinking. He did it with a very high skill level and coordination that the others don’t have.

Most heavyweights outweigh Wilder. I don't think it takes anything too exceptional to punch on the way in and maul him inside.

Yeah you might get caught flush on the way in. Fury didn't because he's exceptional. For everyone else it's a 50/50 shot. Fighting on the outside against Wilder doesn't get you those odds.

Prior to this fight, Curt Henning and I were having a discussion and I suggested that there was a good reason Wilder doesn't get matched with pressure fighters.
Given Fury's success with what isn't his natural game, I'd be amazed if future opponents don't adopt this tactic.

Fury pushed Wilder back with a spearing jab(Lewis) from round one. A lot easier to do that when you have a two inch reach advantage. Good luck trying to out jab Wilder and not be in the danger zone or easily able to move out of it when he has a healthy reach advantage over you, something he doesn't even have over Fury.

Ortiz managed to jab him for 6 rounds. In fact most fighters have managed to outland him. The blueprint is to get him moving backwards and then get up close. There are plenty of boxers around who can do that. Fury can derisk it with his length and movement - but it's a worthwhile risk for the rest.

Dude Ortiz didn't use his jab anywhere near as effectively. On top of Ortiz being a southpaw which makes jabbing with your orthodox opponent a completely different situation. Wilder and Ortiz were fencing with their lead hands battling for positioning. Fury was rocking Wilder with it, snapping his head back forcing him retreat.

Brezeale and other fighters have tried and failed miserably.

We aren’t giving Fury enough credit for the thorough beat down he laid on Wilder.

Not everybody has the size and skill to pull off what Fury did. Plus the chin and balls to stand toe to toe. Fury got caught a few times and took the shots well.

Exactly this. 99% of HW would have dropped when Wilder hit fury clean in the first 2 rounds. Fury is just a different breed.

Well, Breazeale tried the same, but got stopped early..

I never liked Wilder, but I feel he still beats Kownacki, Rivas, Pulev, Povetkin, maybe Whyte and that level of guys.

I Wilder continues fighting, than maybe Joyce, Ajagba or Dubois would have a power and courage to punish him.

Ruiz -Wilder is 50 -50 at this moment

Honestly, Wilder is still top 10 guy and you can`t just use a "blueprint" Fury made, because Fury is the best guy in game.

It takes skills, courage, movement, height, reach advantage to do that..

Great post. Basically the blueprint until proven otherwise is having all time great caliber talent at Heavyweight.
