  • Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Joshua Should Vacate Belts, Get It On With Fury

LAS VEGAS Ideally, Frank Warren would want Deontay Wilder to turn down the third fight Tyson Fury is contractually obligated to give him. That would open up Fury's schedule, according to Warren, for what he deemed would be the biggest sporting event in England in more than 50 years. That's how huge Warren thinks a Fury-Anthony Joshua showdown would become if those heavyweight champions fought in their home country.

Why would anybody want Joshua to vacate I would rather wait to see the fight for undisputed unified champ than watch Fury school Joshua.

Because if Joshua doesn't fight the mandos he gets stripped.

There would have be agreements with IBO, WBO, WBA and IBF for a unification and a lot of stepaside money. Which the fighters may or may not accept.

Then there's WBC, Whyte is still mandatory regardless of the rematch.

People underrate how hard unification is.

Why? Because he makes $100 mil vs fury and can lose making 2 mandatories ruining all uk showdown

I agree it's very difficult to do otherwise we would see complete unification more often but it's not impossible either. The fighters themselves will have to push hard for it and it can happen imo Wilder said it even if he isn't the one to do it " one face one name "

Would be a more boring fight against Joshua but Fury would end him nonetheless. AJ would also have the advantage of seeing this side of Fury in advance and probably prepare better.

Its a problem. Ideally they could just **** off the mandatories and do this right now for unification. Vacating belts sucks and wasting time with Pulev sucks.

What is the point of vacating when they have said Wilder will trigger the rematch clause.

I want this fight to be for the undisputed champion of the division. That’s a historic feat and I think we can get there with AJ and Fury but probably not as soon as we’d like.

So now they’re talking back in England again? I thought Fury was American now. It makes sense but I was hoping we can claim Fury for the next few fights.

                    Unifications trump mandatories.
