Yes I believe if Wilder and Joshua fought last week, AJ would go into it like he did in the 2nd Ruiz fight, win most rounds but get KO'd eventually a la Ortiz.

If AJ can go back to being somewhat fearless like he was pre-Parker, he should now know that he has the potential to bully Wilder.

It remains to be seen if AJ actually has that aspect of his game though. He was absolutely terrified of getting hit vs Ruiz so it depends on whether that was due to PTSD which will effect his game going forward, or purely tactics for that specific fight.

Still a very close call though.

Got robbed in a toe to toe classic when he had McD ready for a KO, but McD SPRINTED to the opposite side of the ring to buy time for the bell.

Turning the back like that much less a fatty in full sprint is automatically a TKO or DQ Fury was robbed of.

What grade U in this year?
The point is, to consistently fight the best available, mandatories etc..you'll be fighting elite opposition with different styles, in different circumstances.
You get that perfect storm, the wrong opponent on the wrong day and you're beat.
AJ had to endure that, carrying himself as a champion. The same way lennox did.
Fury disappeared..and in that sense he's remained something of an unknown quantity, eg no one knows what he'll do vs different type of opponents.

Fury came in fully prepared and focused on Wilder. If he was fighting multiple top level fights consecutively he would come unstuck eventually. I brought up mcdermott as an example of what can happen.
picture Fury carrying the division as the champ and having to consectively be in fights vs the likes of whyte, parker, usyk, ruiz, gassiev etc.
at some point he would probably lose heart and come in unprepared..like he did vs otto wallin. Except it will be someonr better than otto wallin who will make him pay.

Considering that Fury had to put some muscular size and change trainers to gain the power to maul Wilder says a lot. I think that all the guys you listed already have the power to do what Fury did. Its more that they don't have the movement that Fury has and it would be difficult to emulate.

Wilder would have the range advantage on all of them but they can all ****. Especially Whyte and Joshua.

Over the two fights, Wilder couldn't deal with the movement but this time he 100% cannot deal with having the fight brought to him - Ortiz kind of showed that but had to do it inside of Wilder's range. Ultimately, the round ending saved Wilder from Ortiz beating him.

Wilder needs to pass on the trilogy. He should fight Ruiz next. Gives him credibility if he wins. Good choice for Ruiz and if he can close the distance, I think Ruiz can KO him.
