only if hatton stays at 140, but then again, mayweather could make it to 49-0 no problem if he fought at 135 stead of 147 or 154

throughout history guys have vacated weight classes they would have been able to dominate for years.

imagine if thomas hearns or sugar ray leonard had fought their entire careers at welterweight. who besides each other could have possibly beaten them? (well duran could beat leonard but not hearns at welter)

I don't count the Montell Griffin fight a lost because he was winning.

Just because you class it as that, doesn't mean this history books will.

No way, Floyd doesn't fight as often enough, by the time he got to 49 fights, he'd be in his late 30's easily, and with losses.

Hatton should not fight at Welter. ANd hitting 49-0 wouldn't be dificult.... however, hitting 49-0 against meaningful or at least decent opposition is another story. Hell, a bunch of fighters could probably get to 100-0 by fighting bums their whole careers.

My guess is Hatton wont hit it though, 8 fights and in the Wetler, and even light welter, there's too many good opponents to end up not getting a loss to one of em' somehow.
