Wilder is American and I have picked him to win. He has many white fans from America who support him. Yet he seems to repeat the refrain about race and being a black champion, which is okay I guess, but I almost get the impression that he does not care about his white American support, as he often seems to make out the white man as the enemy.

I guess I have a hard time believing he’s legitimately racist. His wife or fiancée (don’t know if they married yet) is not black (I think she’s Asian?) and his team has some white guys.

I feel like he’s trying to galvanize support among his hardcore fans possibly or else he’s trying to play on people’s emotions or maybe get some sort of emotional edge to feel he’s fighting for his people or culture. But I just thought it could backfire in terms of support if he takes it too far.

Just wanted to see what other people think.
