Let’s face it the era of proving yourself is over

That’s the stank Floyd left on the boxing game no risk.

For those noobs that think Canelo has it all his way you missed out on the Floyd era who paid his opponents far less and always had the refs, officials, gloves, location etc on his side or there was no fight.

It’s comical all these fake “champs” talk a big game then when they’re offered the biggest payday of there careers they say “ oh no I’m worth more than that” yet will most likely never make that kinda money ever again lol

These are the times where in and because the hate and jealousy for the biggest star in boxing is big around here these dumbs fuccks find ways to defend the ***** ducking the fight smh only in boxing will you see that.

would people pay to see Canelo fight tomato cans outside of the top ten for the rest of his career? No. Stop pretending like he deserves to keep all the money.

Canelo has all that stuff in his favour too. No ref has ever been against him, judges always lean towards him, he decides the location, and he tried to get his own gloves made by his trainer but had to abandon that plan when they fell apart mid-fight the first time they were tested

I don’t understand why everyone has a problem with people negotiating.

BJS is getting a better deal because of it.

You’re supposed to try to get the most money possible. It’s why people pay managers and promoters instead of just taking whatever is offered to them.

canelo came up the hard way. turned pro in mexico at 15. got his butt kicked by floyd in his early 20's. i have no problem with him choosing opponents, he's earned it at this point. only real beef i've had with him over his entire career was the creation of the 155 lb division to avoid gennady golovkin until he got older.

floyd, likewise, came up the hard way. floyd mayweather was not a giant PPV star until he beat oscar de la hoya.

my beef with the young guys now is that they take the opportunities afforded to them in 2020 by having their own social media platform to publish, a 24 hour news cycle, to AVOID fights. that's a big no no from me! a young, talented, unproven fighter should want to take on all comers. it's his management that should be realistic about where he is and the finances of getting the most out of his career. gervonta davis was 21-22 years old ducking vasyl lomachenko on social media by saying whatever the hell he could to avoid the fight. he wasn't ready. lomachenko wasn't a ppv fighter. it's an awufl look. and you see what it's done to davis mentality, he's not a hungry fighter anymore and he feels entitled.

A deal is nearly complete for Billy Joe Saunders to make a defense of his WBO super middleweight world title against Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. The fight would take place on May 2 in Las Vegas, as part of Cinco De Mayo weekend.

"We just negotiated better terms. Billy Joe is in the pole seat. We believe everyone is on the same side in terms of what fight needs to be made.

This is utterly ridiculous. You are over exaggerating solely because you are a huge Canelo fan.

You are not completely wrong-the fact that some guys got overpaid is causing guys to negotiate for the best deal possible. They should be more willing to take risks.

That stated, ODh is causing the problem because he will not make an offer to anyone who would readily take it. Like I said in the last post he will not offer Bivol, Bieterbiev, Andrade or Benavidez a Canelo fight because he knows they will take the low offer.

Its a combination of both things.

It is an undeniable fact that Canelo pays his opponents more than Mayweather did, get these guys are still asking for more and more. It’s insane. Floyd did do an interview once and said that he was going to talk to Al and tell him they’re paying the fighters way too much for the guys theyre fighting. He said guys are going way too far with their demands, and were seeing that with Canelos opponents.
