Dazn can't afford to overpay Canelo's opposition because they're already overpaying Canelo. Canelo and Gggs contracts are going to be horrible long term contracts. You can equate it to how the Yankees over pay for stars and then regret it at the end of the contract because they're stuck paying 20 plus mil a season to an aging star who no longer brings much to the table.

Funny thing is many of the same people who claimed Canelo was avoiding these guys are now turning around and defending them for refusing to step up. The fact that his resume is deeper than all of them combined is no coincidence, these guys have no desire to build a legacy for themselves and would rather sit on a title playing it safe.

Guessing it will be David Lemieux when it’s all said and done both Saunders & Smith have priced themselves out. Definitely not ideal but at least David has a puncher’s chance.

I've always been a fan of Canelo and I can admit he has turned into a diva as he's climbed to the top of the sport. I feel like he picked up a lot of Oscar & Floyd's unsavory attributes when it comes to fight demands

But when it comes to purses I think he's been decently fair. I mean look at what Floyd was doing...
32M compared to 1.5M for Maidana
37m compared to 3M for rematch
32M compared to 4M for Berto
41.5M compared to 5M for Canelo

Guys were hopping in there to fight Floyd for way less than what Canelo is giving guys. And the pay gap is way smaller. But for whatever reason the outcry wasn't as drastic as it is today

All those guys were ****** and manipulated by their management to take those purses. You really think there wasn't a conflict of interest when most of those guys were managed or third party controlled by the same guy that advises Floyd.

They don’t seem to be factoring in that it isn’t some big easy payday for the opponent. Canelo isn’t Mayweather. The opponent is likely to be crushed and then gone will be his aura of whatever it was. The demand to see him will suffer. Pay up or shut up, Canelo.
