Tough for me to give career advice to Plant. He knows his body better and what kind of recovery time he needs physically and mentally. That being said, he hasn't been terribly active as of recent and his last two opponents were pretty pedestrian (Lee and glorified middleweight Feigenbutz). The Canelo fight on Cinco De Mayo would be a career-defining payday. If he performs well enough he may get a rematch at some point. Benavidez just doesn't seem like a wise risk/reward decision. That's just my opinion tho...

All of the above are not at Canelos level and will be sacrificing the 0 and get a defeat for some cash but a real fighter would jump to it because it's once in a lifetime you get an opportunity to fight a legend and make money. Canelo fought Mayweather and other fighters have also fought other legends and don't regret it.
