Well, if he doesn't want the fight then he shouldn't take it. It's his loss. Although, it could backfire into being one of the worst decisions he has made in his entire life.

He won't make nowhere near the kind of money fighting David Benavidez than he would fighting a Canelo Alvarez. I know if he leaves it would break Al Haymon's heart.

However, he has to do what is right for himself and his family. Besides, there is nothing legally Al or Fox could do to prevent him from crossing over and fighting on DAZN anyhow. He is a promotional free agent.

Big mistake by Plant, he could go fight Canelo and at least make 5 million plus incentives, probably around what Jacobs made which is about 7 to 8 million. The Benavides fight is only going to bring 2 million max, if that, and let's be honest, he's going to lose, he has no power to get Benavides off him. After that obviously he won't get a Canelo fight, it would be a blown opportunity and would have to start all over. This I need a break excuse from Plant is B.S, he's 26, only has fought 3 times in the last 3 years, this last fight was with a punching bag, so really no excuses here besides that he might have fear. People want to compare this to the Kovalev situation but Kovalev just came off a tuff fight he had less time to recover than Plant and Kovalev is 36. No comparison, so just stop with that non-sense.

Well it's true. If you are a successful businessman. You get into this business to make money and not to lose money.

If Plant does decide to cross that bridge he would be lost forever and Al Haymon's knows this. He won't be returning; Especially if he defeats Canelo Alvarez.

You should know. You work for DAZN. They have the deepest pockets in boxing that Al and the PBC cannot compete against; Which is why he is so Hell bent and reluctant in allowing his protected fighters to fight on that platform.

DAZN simply wants to put Al Haymon out of business.

Why should Plant take the fight on short notice?
It's another tactic to give Canelo an advantage.
Alvarez is rested and healed up from his last fight.
I don't understand why boxing fans defend him having every advantage. He is a good fighter,but no reason to manipulate every single fight. Man up and give your opponent a level playing field.

Are you knew to boxing??? EVERYONE knows Canelo fights on Cinco De Mayo and MexiCAN Independence Day! You can set your hotel and flights up the next 2-3 years on that sht!
