I wont be mad at Canelo if he fights that Japanese guy and leaves these bums to sulk. They are not a draw and only serious boxing fans even know who they are.
Kovalev rejected $6 million, got $12 million from GBP

Opening offers are always lowballs.
Whether they're career high paydays or not, they should be rejected.
But most here insist they should be accepted. I don't know why. Granted I've never been involved in a fight negotiation, but even from just buying cars or homes, everyone should know you never take the first offer.Comment

Kov had more name recognition than any guy right not that is not GGG.
Outside the UK nobody knows Saunders and Smith. Benavides and Caleb Plant have small followings.
None on them have been on the big stage the amount of time Kov was.Comment

I'm no fan of promoters, networks and couldn't care less about their finances.
But where would the money come from?
How would they recover it other than pass it on to fans?
I'm scratching my head with these ****** threads as if things
happen in vacuums, no negative effects, everything is kumbaya.
How much per year do you spend watching boxing?
Are you willing to pay more?
It's easy for you be so generous because it's not your money.Comment

So Smith and BJS shouldn’t try to negotiate because they’re not Kovalev?

If it ends up being passed onto us, that sucks.
Maybe the market rate for a Canelo opponent shouldn’t have been set so high.

Never said that. It is called negotiations. But if they expect to get paid like Kov more than likely they won't. They don't have his star power and they are coming off from subpar performances.Comment
