A factor that many of us are overlooking (or forgetting) is that Wilder was not 100% in the first fight with Fury. He had suffered a training camp injury (so he says) and was still experiencing effects from being ill. He says he is 100% for the upcoming fight and has had his best camp ever. Considering all of this he should perform at a much better level than in the first fight. In any event there are no excuses this time for either fighter should they lose.

Comments Thread For: Warren: Knockdowns Give Fury Psychological Edge Over Wilder
Collapse
-
Even the people defending Warren's comments know how silly they are. Wilder is a loud, brash, and supremely confident person, which is doubly so when you refer to his boxing "persona". When Wilder exited the ring that night, he took with him the knowing, that he can get to Fury. What Fury left with, knowing that even in his most perfect fight, staying as far from Wilder and his power as he could, he still got put down. Why do you think Fury has so extremely changed everything about this training camp? Why is Fury planning to come in heavier, change trainers, changing the way he trains, possibly changing the way he fights? Because he got put out cold in fight one.
By the way, Wilder did out jab Fury in the first fight.

Not a good exemple, but sure we can expect a very well prepared, confident and motivated Wilder.

I don't follow that logic.
Fury outboxed Wilder easily for almost the whole fight, needing only to finish the 12th on his feet. That he couldn't do it has to be a concern for Fury.
That he was outboxed for almost the whole fight must certainly be on Wilder's mind, the knockdowns his only comfort.

It's simply impossible for someone who has ADHD, like Fury, to stay focused for 36 min. Wilder by KO.
