When the visiting finalist, Yuniel Dorticos, broke down and knocked out Andrew Tabiti in Riga in June to secure a spot in the 200lbs final, he gained fans in the hometown of his opponent, Mairis Briedis. The Arena Riga is not the lion's den, but a home away from home.

        Dorticos WBBS trophy winner

This is going to be a 50/50 fight but KO Doctor Dorticos will win by a unanimous decision and a unification with Arsen or Makabu next for an undisputed 200lb champ...I have Dorticos on this one

Briedis has more tools to work with, but Dorticus just feels like he is peaking at the right time. A much more polished boxer than he used to be. I am still leaning Briedis, but this is a great championship fight.

Sure seems like those semi-final fights were a long time ago.

Well, Briedis is an excellent, skilled fighter, but that Usyk fight seems to have taken a toll and I feel like someone's been pushing him to the top *hard* as he's really been given "the hometown advantage" in his recent fights.

I'll go with Dorticos by KO. If it goes to the scorecards, they're going to give it to Briedis (either justifiably or not).
