No, I am not saying that Wilder is better than Mike Tyson. This is a new era of heavyweight boxing. Prime for prime Tyson easily smashes him. It's no contest. I think Deontay Wilder should apologize to Mike Tyson. He was out of pocket for disrespecting a legend such as Iron Mike.

Prime Tyson would destroy Wilder. Deontay is a limited fighter with KO power in one hand.
Kid Dynamite Tyson was a complete fighter with KO power in both hands. He’d get inside and work that him easily.

No, I believe that Mike is now showing signs of maturity and growth in his middle age. He could have easily demolished Deontay Wilder verbally if he wanted to but yet he chose to take the high road instead.

Fans of 'Iron' Mike phrase this assertion by referencing a short span of time in the young career of Mike Tyson : the years ' 1986-1989' when he became the youngest HW champion of all time, and just before he got exposed. I find that completely laughable and obviously flawed for sooo many reasons that I'm not even going to make any effort to dispute that ******ity.

We all know that quitter convicted rapist Mike Tyson choked when he stepped-up against anyone good enough and willing to fight back. Deontay Wilder would never lay down for old-man and bum beater Mike Tyson.

Here is something that gets overlooked when reviewing Tyson's standing among ATG HW's : Mike Tyson was protected against journeyman 'Razor' Ruddock ( Twice ), after Tyson got exposed by Buster Douglas. If you all done your homework you would know why.

No way does the 'Bronze-Bomber' take an L to Buster Douglas, that's like Wilder getting sparked by Dominic Breazeale, 'Razor' Ruddock would be like Deontay getting help from the ref vs. Dillian Shyte.

No way would the title of 'Baddest man' be given to Mike Tyson if Deontay was around.
Utter nonsense. Tyson was terrifying, most of his opponents were beaten before they got in the ring. He was a wild animal and would tear Wilder apart with no response from Wilder who wouldn't have the first clue how to deal with him.
Tyson won't wait 7 or 8 rounds for Wilder to get his timing and distance right, hell have finished it in seconds flat.
As a boxer, Tyson was a lot more intimidating than Wilder. At least 30 of Wilders KO's were against journeymen at best. He was fighting fighters with more loses than wins trying to get his name noticed.

Tyson in his prime was a terrifying, inhuman monster that seemed unstoppable, Wilder is a nice guy with a big punch who looks very beatable.

You can't compare the two when it comes to the "baddest man" title, Wilder isn't on Tyson's level, not even close.

Anyone who has a problem with what wilder said shows why he is the fighter and you crumbs are always online talking about fighters. If someone ask you if you would beat a peer(same field) in their prime and you second guess yourself thats your problem. dont hate wilder for his confidence because yall have none. he is the champion of the world and is supposed to believe he would beat anyone at anytime in any era. ask tyson in his prime if he would have beaten roc or louis or paterson or liston and he would have said the same thing. yall rather have paid commentary teams tell you who to like and whos the best than the fighter themselves. keep knocking them out wilder.

Horrible match up for Deontay, tyson would get in on him and unleash combos, all wilder has is a right hand, and tysons head movement with the double guard would be hard for him to wing it. He would need to be accurate.

Wilder is basically koing statues, big guys who dont have much head movement and he hits them.

Wilder hits like a mack truck but he would need more than a right hand to beat Tyson. You seen how Luis Ortiz was able to hurt Deontay in the first when he threw a combo in close, tyson would throw hook, upper cut, hook.

Mike Tyson even after jail was still a very effective, and highly technical well conditioned heavyweight. Deontay Wilder is just being himself, I would expect him to believe 'That he can beat anybody at this stage in his career' but in my opinion Mike Tyson whether it is the late 80's, early 90's or just after Prison Tyson? Beats all of these heavyweights. Just the share speed and unhinged violence in Tyson's style, would induce a state of claustrophobia within Deontay Wilder.

It was also a myth that he suddenly became a bad fighter after prison, if that Tyson was active in today's division 'I would have him beating everybody' He was still doing things in terms of offense that typically you do not see today 'Offense/defense was still incredibly potent and dangerous'.

Extremely clinical finish of Frank Bruno.

You had to jab and throw a lot of punches to dissuade Tyson. Tyson could take a shot. His hands were a lot faster than anyone Wilder has ever fought. That head movement. Wilder is made for Tyson.

Wilder gets upset and starts talking crazy. He knows the fans view him as a skill less one trick pony and it gets to him.

Tyson is a truly transformed man. Diplomatic. Ok I like Wilder. Seems like a good guy. Hellacious right hand. But - stop. If in 2 years he runs through Fury, Joshua and whoever emerges from the Dubois/Joyce class - then we can discuss him as a top 15 type. Until then, gimme a break
