PBC on Fox yet AGAIN didn’t Acknowledge BJS’s WBO ..

The IBF was legitimized by Larry Holmes.

The WBO was legitimized by multiple fighters throughout multiple weight classes who turned out to be the best champion... and Oscar De La Hoya deciding to fight for that title.

If you want to argue that the networks legitimized the WBO, that’s fine. But they’ve never been able to undo a title’s legitimacy. And that’s not going to change because pbc or fox or whoever is throwing a hissy fit.

If every TV network tomorrow decided to ignore the IBF title, within 5 years nobody would consider it a major title. The WBA and WBC only grew to prominence after the Ring Magazine bribery scandal, which caused the TV networks to demand that promoters only feature WBA and WBC ratings as well as WBA and WBC champions.

The WBO wasn't considered a major title for so long because HBO refused to recognize it. When HBO decided to recognize it, it became a major title.

If ESPN, Fox and Showtime all decided tomorrow to regularly feature IBO titles and recognize the IBO as a world title, in a matter of months, it would be considered a major title.

The networks have the money, so the networks have all the power.

I don’t understand the insecurity. Here’s the funny part...The broadcast was for hillbillies. The hell would they even know about the nature of “unifications” or that Plant would NEED or SHOULD fight Billy Joe Saunders?

Is it like PBC doesn’t want to promote the WBO because they feel PBC on Fox is so powerful and influential?

I just think these moves are petty, cheap, and water down the nature or accurate information of the sport. This is the exact same nature of political censorship or communism...

To me it just shows a massive lack or respect for the sport and its competitors. I dont hide the fact i cant stand the PBC or Haymon but is it any wonder with the way they go about their business. Its all just dirty.
