    Why don’t they just make Canelo-GGG 3?

    This solves everything.

GGG is already in camp and preparing to fight around the same time.

It’s the biggest fight Canelo can make.

GGG’s entire paycheck will be independent of GBP’s budget. DAZN will pay him.

Pay Szeremeta a step aside fee and make it happen.

De La Hoya can say no one wants to fight Canelo all he wants but we all know GGG wants the fight.

There's still a small chance GGG could turn back the clock and beat him again, like he did the first two times.

They'd rather wait until there's no chance.

When Canelo dropped his belt to avoid GGG, I'd have picked GGG to win 8-4.
The first fight I scored 8-4 GGG.
Second fight I scored 7-5 GGG.

Right now I'd pick Canelo to win 7-5 or maybe 8-4.

Next year? Maybe 9-3 Canelo or Canelo by stoppage.

Why they won't make GGG vs Canelo 3

Because Canelo is too afraid to fight away from Vegas

I'll pass. Nothing would be more hurtful than seeing golovkin get stopped by a guy who ducked him for years and get gifts after two fights

              Of course he can.

It's just far, far less likely now.

Canelo should be and will be the favorite if the fight is made, but I'd still give GGG a better shot than Smith, Andrade, or BJS.

Good post...I more or less agree with your thoughts on the first 2 fights...and I was thinking that about fight 3...but I actually think GGG would still probably outwork Canelo in a lot of rounds...GGG looked pretty bad vs SD...but SD also fights much more actively than Canelo.

I honestly think we'd have a similar fight right now where GGG is more active and landing more but Canelo is landing some good shots as well...I think legit it is probably 50-50 right now...but as you pointed out, that percentage is only going down for GGG.

I hope they do it one more time though...if GGG wants it that is...he deserves another shot at Canelo...not to mention that GGG will be much more motivated, relatively speaking, than Canelo would be for that 3rd fight, compared to how motivated each was for the 2nd fight.

I still wouldn't sleep on GGG in a 3rd fight...but as we know, if it's close it's probably going to Canelo, so close probably won't cut it...would be interesting to see if tptb give a close one to GGG next...would make a profitable 4th fight more likely if the official record is 1-1-1...a man can dream lol.

Why? Because sometimes the ego gets too big and it’s a high risk fight for all involved. Golovkins ego got in the way the second fight and Canelo turned around and said “Petty..here let me show you what it really is” two big names with big paychecks and huge egos. Toss in Oscars ego and it’s a recipe for a messy relationship.
