Surprised to see that this forum seems so low on Garcia. Tank might have a slight edge right now, if that, but Garcia is clearly about to start pulling ahead of him. Discipline and intelligence go a long way.

I'm leaning toward Tank if they fight. Garcia has the discipline to beat Tank I think but that's my problem with him as well he's turned himself into a literal social media superstar and that concerns me if he gets into an actual dogfight. Can he hold up to the power? Will he know what to do if Tank does land clean and hurts him? Alot of compelling questions around both fighters really.

This is all talk from Ryan to get people to tune in to his fight. We all know that they wouldn't set that fight up for this year. They're turning the fight with Fonseca into a race by seeing if Ryan will stop Fonseca earlier than Tank.

But I've been watching Ryan since he was a kid. He's the Real deal.
Only question I have about him is about his chin. Can he take a clean shot from a big puncher ?

If Tank gets in shape, Ryan will be too big for him, and If the guy who struggled with a one legged, old, overweight, Gamboa shows up. Ryan is way too dedicated for that guy.

It's his mental fortitude that's the bigger questionmark for me... same for all wunderkinder. How are they gonna cope with some guy who doesn't lie down and really starts to put the pressure on? Have they got the grit to bite down when they're hurt or first feel a fight slipping away from 'em?

For me that's the point when you see whether one of these young talents has really got what it takes.

I like this match up. I would slightly favor Garcia at 135 but I don't know how well he can take Tank Davis' punch. Unfortunately, we will never know because Al Haymon would never allow the fight to happen. Unless, Ryan leaves Golden Boy and sign with the PBC.

It always surprises me how easily boxing fans are taken by obvious clout chasing before fights or because a promoter is unable to make meaningful fights for their clients. I see it more often with dazn based fighters of golden boy and eapecially Matchroom and almost if not truly exclusively PBC fighters are the targets. Even with both the clout chasing blowhard and the PBC fighter have fights set up or in the works.
I think dazn is just struggling and the promoters are under pressure....
