Gotta love a good underdog story , I thought he beat Williams in the first fight , then the guy fights pavlik instead of Williams, makes him his son , then DESTROYS Williams with one of the most savage kos of the 2010s . And it was in 2010 . Besides marquez dialing out Pacquiao I cant remember another title fight where I thought the ko victim was dead like these 2 ones. I mean iam sure there are but off the top of my dome these2 stand out bigtime. Maravilla was never thought to be a big puncher and Williams was said to have an iron chin which I think he proved it was top notch . That ko was startling . Just something else that literally no one expected . Stand up sergio martinez , pls stay retired champ .
    Yup

He certainly watched guys like RJJ do their work (hands down, clowning fools).

George Foreman was able to do it, I'm hoping Serg can have an equally successful return

Hey man we can only hope for the best but judging by the Cotto fight iam not sure maravillas knee holds up . Knees dont just heal . I mean there are some invasive surgeries these days , so I hope it did but with Sergio's style this seems like a bad idea .

He seems like he will be honest with himself. If he can't cut it, he will be the first to admit it.

I think he can beat the Fieldings and Rolls of the sport.

Its crazy..... Who would think Angulo would be the one getting his last 3,4 hoorahs vs top competition Instead of Those 2.

Absolutely one of my favourites of the 2010s but he's a reflex fighter down in the divisions where speed matters not a HW fighting other slower dudes.

I wish him well but I can't envisage a good ending to this.

              Sadly (the bold)

Maybe he retained his hand/eye coordination. He wasn't some bum when he retired. He did not allow an injury to properly heal. And even then he was always competitive.

Time off can be a blessing
He didn't let himself go like most boxers do.

              If Jr wants that rematch

One of my favourite fighters and still holds my favourite all time knock out. I welcome him back, sure he's probably past it and his body was ruined when he left, but the dude has a chance to earn a few million - all the best to him.

Reminds me of the fight between Kirkland and him, that was so entertaining. Not sure if it win FOTY but we all knew someone was getting ko'd

Great fighter but he is done, it was hard to watch him against Cotto as his legs clearly weren't there anymore, this could end very badly
