Its because there was a time when Canelo was still learning on the job & looked beatable, back then these guys still would insist on more than they're worth, but now they would rather duck unless its extreme money because Canelo looks damn near unbeatable at the moment in mw-smw divisions for the 1st time. Suddenly these fighters managers inform their fighter to strategically duck to stay relevant & continue building their profile against cherries like Ryder was supposed to be & then still cashout vs Canelo eventually or beat him even.

They must figure its better to do that than have Canelo derail their careers & take their belts back to DAZN

Smith talked a good game and then declined a Canelo fight. I thought he would jump at the shot. If he is having so much trouble making weight then move up to light heavyweight. Plenty of opportunities but will not match the dough of a Canelo fight.

Canelo is going to get same credit from his lame Mexican fanboys he got for fighting Lame ***** from teh UK instead of Andrade for the WBO belt. Ops, I forgot, he didn't fight for belts, he fought for pride when Andrade had the belt. What I heard is rehydration clauses.

Because Hearn is Smith's exclusive promoter, and therefore has the exclusive right to select Smith's opponents, I was trying to give Smith the benefit of the doubt. If you're saying Smith himself turned down the fight, despite it being a career high payday, where is all the outrage? If a PBC fighter supposedly turns down a career high payday, everyone rips on them and says if an offer is a career high, you must accept.

So shouldn't the same apply to Smith?

Or is it possible an offer can be both a career high and a lowball?

Smith and Gallagher have clashed with Hearn before. Last year, Smith threatened to cut ties with Matchroom - which he has the right to do - if Eddie didn't get him the kind of big money fights he thinks he deserves.

Smith is the WBA SMW Super champion, Canelo holds the regular WBA title in the same division. I doubt he is offering to fight Callum in the UK. Smith's status as WBA super champion deserves respect, especially if Canelo is asking him to defend his title on the road and looking at a $35million purse for himself..

You have no idea what the offer was or why Smith turned it down.

So you agree then that an offer can be both:

                1 - A career high payday
                2 - A lowball offer

                ?

                    Yes of course it can.

Should the money be the same whether you are offering somebody a shot at a world title, or asking for a shot yourself?

Canelo is calling himself a 4 division world champion, but he only holds the regular version the WBA SMW. Smith holds the super WBA and ring magazine SMW titles.
