Hearn is the only promoter I've ever seen who markets the diamond belt as if it's a real belt. I've lost track of how many Matchroom events I've seen that push a diamond belt on the poster. In the US, nobody cares about diamond belts and they are never marketed as real titles like Hearn tries to do.

This one is more of a belt than a trophy, but it doesn't really do anything except allow you to challenge the legit WBC champ at any time with a favorable split I believe.


So if he wins it, he can challenge Errol Spence Jr. at any time
