Why would he bother training for a fight he was practically guaranteed to win? He was facing a UFC fighter, who didn't even have amateur boxing experience. The fight itself was a slap in the face to the sport. Andy Ruiz fought a former unified world champion in his prime, and coated himself the match by hardly training. Fans were justified in criticizing him, because he didn't take seriously a fight he could lose.

Please explain why does Floyd get a pass ?
He just came out saying he did not train for his fight with Conor

What about those fans who ponied up big bucks to go see a boxing match , two hard training individuals punching each other for victory ?

Not at 40 and a fight they won. Ruiz gets **** because he has a history of lack of dedication. Also May has a strong rep for working out hard his whole career. Trust me May gets no special treatment from press or a lot of fans
