I wish that every poster had the ability to nuke a thread once a year. I’d do this one.

Wrong, Gaethje is not the money maker here. He will do what the UFC says so, if its at 170 its at 170. Conor is in the drivers seat here.Comment

Conor isn’t going to fight Gaethje @ 170 for a 155 title shot. Khabib said himself that the next lightweight title shot contender needs to win his next fight @ ONE FIFTY FIVE.
170 is WELTERWEIGHT.
McG would be fighting winner of USMAN and JORGE @ 170.
He don’t want that smoke, big facts.Comment

Conor didnt want to cut weight so the UFC allowed the 2 lightweights to fight at 170 but allowed the fight to be still be considered in the 155lb division rankings
I'm thinking they might do the same with Gaethje.Comment

Gaethje is 155er, in the ranks for a TITLE SHOT @ 155.

Dana White explains why Conor McGregor earns a lightweight title shot for a win over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246, despite that fight being at welterweight.
They bend the rules a little bit to accommodate Conor you know this.
I believe they're going to allow the Gaethje fight to be contested at 170 but still consider it a fight between 2 lightweights as far as the rankings go. Jus like they did with Ceronne.Comment

I hope this helps you out:

And Khabib will refuse it like he’s already stated so it’s irrelevant.
Conor wants his shot at a 155 title fight. He’s not beating Usman or Jorge, no point to fight at 170. Cowboy was a gimme fight for Conor.
They’re at a stand still because Khabib isn’t having it, even if Conor wants it. That’s the problem.Comment
