Man...what a tragedy. A great talent totally lost in his own colon. By the time 147 has snapped him back to reality, his market value (and potentially his capacity to think straight) will be seriously impaired. ROBERT!!! Shake your brother awake before it’s too late!

I respected the risk that he took and never expected him to win, but based on how he was talking, I expected him to go down like vargas did vs Trinidad. Instead he pulled an Adrien Broner where he was just happy to survive and go12. Don't wanna see him at 147 again.

Well put. Mikey was my favourite fighter before his hiatus. He’s a charming guy. Him challenging Spence was awesome in a way as so many other fighters duck guys in their own weight class. But he was so uncompetitive in that fight that everyone was left embarrassed. Simply put, it wasent great for boxing. I agree I think he just wants to win the Manny sweepstakes, just like everyone else. I used to think all he’d have to do is get the W vs Vargas to get it but now I think there would be considerable backlash if he doesn’t win dramatically. Course it’s up to Manny. Mikey would need to beat Manny to have deserved the shot in my opinion.

He wasn't my favourite, but I had a lot of time for him.

A lot of fighters get to a point where they want to cash out. They chase paydays instead of legacy.

I don't begrudge them. Especially when they have had a long career, and put so much of themselves into the sport.

But, while I don't begrudge them, I am not interested in those fights.

Mikey has crossed that threshhold. I hope he does well, and gets some nice paychecks. He has earned it. But I won't be watching.
