  • Comments Thread For: Josh Warrington Parts Ways With Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions

For the second time this week, Josh Warrington has reached the end of the road of a significant development in his career. The unbeaten featherweight titlist has allowed his promotional contract with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions to expire without renewing terms. Queensberry Promotions confirmed the news through an official press statement on Wednesday.

"Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions can announce that the company has parted ways with IBF world featherweight champion Josh Warrington at the conclusion of his promotional agreement," the statement read. "The now 30-0 man from Leeds joined forces with Queensberry in 2017 and was quickly steered into mandatory position for the world title showdown with Lee Selby that he long craved. This was delivered on a memorable night at Elland Road in May 2018 and Josh subsequently defended in a huge Box Office event against Carl Frampton in the December at Manchester Arena.

"Home advantage for a mandatory defence against fellow Yorkshireman Kid Galahad was secured in June 2019, with his last fight being a voluntary defence against Sofiane Takoucht, which resulted in an emphatic second round victory."

He’s gone to match room. Massive signing for Eddie.

Warren is on his way out of boxing now. 3 fights with Fury and he's pretty much done. Him throwing Dubois in with Joyce confirms that for me. Warren usually protects his fighters for 40 fights.

Dubois has just signed a new 5 year contract with Warren.

Who does Warren have? All he has is Dubois and he's risking him against Joyce. Looks like he's cashing out to me. If Warren pulls out of the sport that 5 year contract won't mean anything.

When he retires he will just hand it to his sons.

They been saying this for years he is on his way out, it just run its course what would have been next for Warrington rematch Galahad totally pointless.

              Warren did his best

People were saying that Stevenson was ducking. Now we know what really happened. He wasn't staying, so there was no point in discussing the fight.

Wow, big loss for QBP. Big signing for Matchroom. In the battle between Frank and Eddie, that's a major coup for Eddie.

Maybe he didn't stay because the fight wasn't happening? Warren telling Stevenson "now or never" supports this theory.
