Argh, too bad for the bantam division, someone unexciting becomes regular champion.
Anyway, regular championship is not really one to unify.
Donaire vs Rigo ? Both old men are now in bantam, maybe there will be a rematch, if Donaire wants it (he or Schaeffer probably won't).Last edited by gritsteel; 02-09-2020, 02:13 AM.Comment

His footwork is good and he has good power in his left, but he only fights one way. He doesn't have a good chin, can't fight on the inside, doesn't block shots well and has a nonsense right hook. He's old now, so his reflexes are going so I don't expect too much more from Rigo going forward. Inoue will have an easy time with this version of Rigo. If he drops to 115, he'll do well.Comment

... Frampton fought at super bantam from 2010 to 2016... he even got Rigo's WBA "super" belt at 122, eventually (as WBA stripped Rigo at some point)...
Frampton and LSC were ducking Rigo...Comment

Lol everyone here was writing Solis off before like Rigo was going to massacre him but they must've never watched him fight before because he should've already been a champ at 118 he beat the crap out of Jamie McDonell and got robbed in Monte Carlo. He has never been knocked out and Rigo is a good puncher but so is Yamanaka he hurt him when he actually decided to throw punches but the Venezuelan was game he was at least trying to make it a fight Rigo was just posturing most of the fight waiting to land one counter at a time was one of the most boring fight's I have ever seen there are boxing clinics where clean effective punching and then there is fights like this with very little action besides round 1 when Solis rocked him around the ring and the 2 rounds Rigo hurt him other than that it was Solis the smaller guy chasing Rigo around the entire fight.
I like Rigo but im just calling it as it is he decides at almost 40 years old to go 118 and gets rocked in the first round by the smaller man I don't think he has many big fights left and yeah if he pulls a masterclass he can outbox Inoue he can outbox anyone but if Inoue touches him its over without a doubt and he can be hit just look at his last few fights.Comment
