people that say ward dominated the second half of the fight...its just not true. rounds 9 and 10 were both easy kovalev rounds. no one even talks about round 9! kovalev landed 7 power punches to wards 1! kovalev buckled wards legs at the end of the round. ward landed some nice jabs which were better than kovalev's in the round but the quality wasn't close. thats 2 clear rounds and 11 and 8 were razor close rounds as well. domination...no. fan goggles
I think round 9 was a close one for me that I shaded to Ward because I 'think' Ward did some good body work at the end of the round, that appeared to impact Kov and backed him up into the ropes.

But yeah I had 8 shaded to Kov and 11 as well...I actually thought round 12 was Ward's best round the whole fight, and his clearest round of the fight.

The funny thing is I was expecting the whole fight to kind of go the way of those last 6 rounds...where I would probably shade a fight like that 7-5 to Kov as he landed the bigger shots and was maybe a bit more active...but Ward seemed to always get rewarded with close rounds in his career...so I was expecting him to get a 7-5 type decision if the whole fight was like that.

And in that case, I would have said - OK, I think they were a bit off...but when you're the home fighter, those are the perks...I just really couldn't believe they didn't give it to Kov after a dominant first 6 rounds and an even last 6...with the clearest round of the last 6 going to Kov.

are you talking about all those low blows? i just rewatched it. 5 low blows in about 5 seconds. not really scoring blows. maybe you can count that left hand he hits kovalev with that makes him fall into the ropes but even that was when he had kovalevs left arm wrapped. you have to really bend reality to consider that kind of stuff clean work. even if you did i dont see how thats enough.

Why would I bother arguing with someone who's been crying since 2016?

i've been crying since birth, literally! but i dont understand your point. i've been crying since the fight happened? is there a time limit that i've crossed? the figth doesnt get talked about too much anymore so im not sure what you mean. my opinion that kovalev clearly won remains the same. you just haven't put forth any real substance to your argument. i keep breaking down what rounds i think he clearly won, which were close, etc...you are over there with your kov won first half second half ward won. amazing stuff
