Why is there so much hate on NSB for GGG?

Boxing fans today are very tribal. If they are fans of particular fighters that means they can never see any of the good in that fighter’s rivals. The GGG haters usually go hand in hand with the Manny haters, Loma haters, and Crawford haters to a lesser extent. They are mostly Floyd, Ward, and PBC loyalists. Casuals to be more precise, not true fans of boxing.Comment

Boxers much better than ggg get significantly more hate from nsb so I think it’s ok if people don’t like ggg.
Why is it wrong not to like ggg?Comment

Yes in his 4 biggest fights you could argue he didn't quite live up to the reputation some ascribed to him...I think Canelo 1 and Jacobs, they just came to survive...and those were clear Ws for GGG...still could have done more there though.
Fight 2 with Canelo was a great fight where we saw someone for the first time hold the center of the ring vs GGG...was very impressive for Canelo...but at the same time GGG still outworked Canelo basically every round and won another clear decision.
The SD fight was his toughest and a 7-5 either way type fight imho...a fair-minded person could say that those 4 fights perhaps came towards the tail end of his dominant period and that could excuse why he wasn't quite as dominant there as before.
Obviously those 4 fights were his 4 of his toughest as well...so at any age, he would have had more issues with those versions of those fighters than the average fight he had.
And you kind of prove my point btw with your post and other posts about GGG...people were/are so threatened by the 'boogeyman' status of GGG, that they are unable to give him his due in all of those fights, and score them appropriately.
They are so eager to try and diminish GGG, because apparently they feel very threatened by him, that they try and say he lost fights that he merely lost maybe 4 rounds in.
And let's be clear - it's not just about some people, in your opinion, 'overhyping' him...if someone is getting overhyped, that doesn't elicit hatred towards them...it may elicit derision, and disbelief...people may laugh and say 'hey man, this guy sucks, who cares'...but the type of emotion people show/showed towards GGG was hatred and anger, which is just a response to feeling threatened really.Comment

He won, idk, 15 straight fights by KO...all vs very good pro fighters...that is really exceptional, in any era, in any division...if he was going life and death with David Lemieux or Willie Monroe Jr or Macklin took him 12 rounds...if any one of those guys won any rounds really vs GGG, then yeah I may agree that he was oversold...but from what he did, no I don't think he was.

But I have no personal animus towards any of those guys...they got hype for certain reasons and it is what it is...I don't hate any of them lol...I think they get a little more credit than they deserve, and in a just world I think they would get a lesson or two to bring their value down to where it should be imho.
I don't waste any time thinking about it though...I just go on with my life, and I ever make a comment about any of them, I mention their good qualities as a boxer twice as often as any negatives associated with them.Comment

Canelo did beat him on some judges cards in Vegas...this is true...if you really want to tell yourself Canelo won either of those fights, go ahead...in that case I wouldn't think you keep it very real and are being tribal...but you would be in good company on this site and in this world so I'm not mad at you buddy.Comment

For example...Ryan Garcia is pretty clearly overhyped at this point...I thought Ward was overhyped/overrated...Canelo a bit so early in his career...and even now probably still a bit overhyped.
