If Fury hadn’t had the mental/physical tailspin

In an alternate universe where Fury hadn’t had the mental and physical health issues and went on to rematch Klitschko and face a younger Wilder, how do you think those fights would have played out?

How different do you think the heavyweight division would look today?

The thing is he had to pull out of the Wlad rematch because he went over on his ankle in training

UKAD then tried to pull a BS case they had sat on for nearly 2 years to try and extort Fury out of money

If Fury didn't fall on his ankle he would have rematched Wlad and the case wouldn't have been brought against him....

Boxing is a dirty dirty buisness.

Fury would have probably had a brawl against Wlad second time around, Wlad didn't engage first time but still gassed out pretty bad in the final couple of rounds whilst Fury was strong and all over him. Fury would look to stop him.

Fury leaving the sport and coming back is part of his legacy though.

People laugh at Fury stopping opponent but gets your facts straight, after Wilder dropped Fury twice, Fury walked at the fool and went after him. Fury is an animal but people are too dumb to recognise true grit heart and sheer determination that i've seen only in a handfull of HW boxers in history.

Go and watch round 12, Fury walked at a tired Wilder and round 9 again. Terminator.

I agree with all of this. Fury is an absolute beast. He hurt Wilder several times whilst being nowhere near his peak condition.

The Klitschko they showed up to fight aj wasn’t over trained because of Fury delays..anyone’s guess how a rematch would’ve gone. It’s not like either man did much of anything the first fight.

If Fury didn’t have the breakdown or the UKAD situation, then Wilder’s reign may have been a lot shorter and AJ would’ve probably never won a belt.
The Wlad win put him in pole position to rule the division.

Fury beats him even easier. Wlad looked terrible against AJ and looked poor against Jennings and Fury. Father time got to him.

It did look like an inevitable diminishment of Klitchko. Then again, a re-match is often just what it takes to re-invigorate a fighter, so I wouldn't want to just right him off either.

Been saying this about Fury ever since I seen him on Channel 5 over a decade ago........ hypothetical's do not really interest me..... I try to focus on the mental and physical of each boxer in the here and now, or leading up to the fight.

There is no doubt in my mind that Fury IS better than the current heavyweights...... but it is skill and mental-wise..... his conditioning is lacking at this point.
