The guy Gary won this title from, was 57-8 with 4 KO losses when Gary won the title. Jhonny has had 13 fights to Gary's 4 since then, not all winners, but he's not looking for Mr perfect.

It should be Leo Santa Cruz vs Gary Russell Jr for the shot at Tank on PPV! While Tank is busy taking care of out the ring issues at the moment

Of course that is IF Gary takes care of business tomorrow because King Tug is more than talented enough to shake up everything tomorrow night. Once again fighters need to focus on what is in front of them, guys look too far ahead it I do think it effects the way they fight at times

Smart move! There are NO CHAMPION in lightweight unless a Loma and Russel simply says that he will fight Loma ONLY AT THE END OF CAREER.

I don't want to hear the excuse that he's only fighting once a year because of the other titlists. When you're being ducked and avoided, you fight WHOEVER will step in the ring with you and put pressure on the top guys to fight you. Russell never establishes any consistent momentum because HE DOESN'T FIGHT ENOUGH! He has no brand or reputation.

Here is a thought Mr. Russell. Maybe beating Lomo would have given you plenty of more fans by now.
