Comments Thread For: Prograis: I'd Hurt Hooker With First Punch I Land, Stop Him

Regis Prograis' preference is to remain within the 140-pound division and win back at least the WBA title Josh Taylor took from him. He'll have to wait for a rematch with Taylor, though, because the Scottish southpaw is on a collision course with Jose Ramirez for their own title unification fight. While waiting for the Ramirez-Taylor situation to play out, Prograis has his sights set on Maurice Hooker, the former champion Ramirez beat in their title unification clash six months ago.

Prograis needs this fight. He has to work on his defense. I'll admit he didn't look like himself against Taylor but hekk that was the finals you have to be on your A game regardless. I do appreciate the fact he's not looking for a soft touch after taking a L I respect that.

Definitely want to see this fight. Hooker doesn't always impress (LesPierre and Perez come to mind) but I thought he was fighting well against Ramirez up until the stoppage. Hooker can definitely crack hard and Prograis has defensive issues at times. Hooker may be able to buzz Regis but I think Rougarou walks through it, breaks down and stops Hooker in a relatively one sided but action packed war.

Personally, if I had to rank the top 4 140 lber's based off what I think, not power rankings or anything, I'd go:
              1. Taylor
              2. Prograis
              3. Ramirez
              4. Hooker

Hooker will win, he’s even bigger than Taylor and has good skills as long as he doesn’t get caught with something big first!

I think Regis is underestimating him and will walk into something big and Mighty Mo may even be the one to knock him out, boxing is funny like that sometimes!

Good fight for Prograis to bounce back from. Nice fight but I can't see any other ending besides Regis stopping him within 6.

Prograis would brutally KO Hooker. Not a competitive fight
