By Cliff Rold - Using the ratings of the published issues of Ring Magazine, and the archived ratings of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) since their debut in October 2012, and under the assumption they act as a reasonable gauge of the state of each of boxing's seventeen weight divisions over the last decade, a select group...

No doubt one particular group of fans are going to take this personally.

people should realize that the value system of opposition is one of the main reasons why promoters don't come to agreement with purses. you've got to earn your stripes. just because you enter a division or org becoming ranked high, suddenly, doesn't mean a rival boxer/promoter thinks you deserve a particular pay. there is grey area in that, but the reality is resume's and pays (in the real world and in boxing) are based on meritocracy.

I'm glad Canelo put his foot down when GBP and DAZN thought they could just match another GGG fight. I don't think Canelo cared what DAZN would profit, but GGG's loudmouth insults and making ''$100mil'' pandering off mexicanism wasn't trill mayne!

not sure I am on board with this one

Mayweather has already been declared the FOTD

and no way can you have Golovkin that high without failing to consider quality of wins.. or lack of

Mayweather won it from BWAA. Ward won it on ESPN. Rold already been a gangsta at BWAA anyways. The debate on whether or not Kovalev was ''passed it'' vs GBP and Reynoso's knowing what they had to do to make an impact closing 2019. Kovalev was already in play for the Canelo fight even before the Yarde bout. All he had to do was win. Me and many others, let alone the odds, had Kovalev with a first half stoppage. Yarde went for broke with Kovalev, already shaved off some years with that performance. Yarde seems to look 200lbs as well in the ring... With all that into consideration, Canelo, being smaller than those just mentioned, has proven, as the article states, his level of defense and accuracy in the ring. It may be the Rold was the minority to have voted for Canelo, and NSB gave him the opportunity to justify his position. Not too bad imo.

I think we really missed a few Mikey Garcia fights @135. Mikey vs Loma was the fight I wanted to see. I wonder who all the new names will be in ten years????

Canelo vs Lara could have went either way, the first Golovkin fight he lost, the second could have went either way. Nobody in their right mind thinks Trout beat or got a draw with Canelo. It was closer than the scores suggested, but why this get's brought up sometimes as a controversial win is ridiculous.

Canelo came out of his 3 debated fights 2 wins and 1 draw. 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss would have been a fairer reflection, but the biggest name often gets the edge in these type of fights and always have done.

I voted for Floyd. This isn’t really a qualitative FOTD list; it’s just an evaluation of a couple elements of the decade. The first part dug into that: https://www.boxingscene.com/fighter-...-right--146013

Note the other two lists at the end this week looking at other angles as well.
